Amy Acton, M.D., MPH, is a physician who served as Ohio Department of Health director under Republican Gov. Mike DeWine during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic and is the Democratic candidate for Ohio governor in 2026, running with David Pepper against Republican Vivek Ramaswamy.
